Debate for classrooms and homeschool

A debate partner for every student, any time of day.

Students pick a motion and a side, argue out loud against an AI opponent that cross-examines them, and get scored by an impartial judge. No partner to schedule, no waiting for a turn, and a scorecard that shows exactly what to fix next.

15 rounds free (a round is one exchange with your opponent).

How a session works

Three steps, a few minutes

  1. Pick a motion and a side. Use the class topic or write your own. Argue for, against, or take a coin toss, and choose Oxford, Lincoln-Douglas, rapid-fire or freeform, with difficulty from Easy to Hard.
  2. Argue out loud. The opponent answers what the student actually said, presses weak evidence and acknowledges a good point before contesting it. Students can talk or type, and historical figures like Lincoln or Socrates argue from their documented positions.
  3. Get judged and scored. An impartial judge scores both sides on argumentation, evidence, rebuttal and composure and picks a winner. A coach's scorecard quotes the weakest line and gives a stronger one to use instead.

Your #1 priority: Rebuttal You never answered the point that uniforms limit how students express themselves.
Missed moment
“Everyone knows uniforms are better for learning.”

An assertion with no example gave the opponent an easy rebuttal.

Try instead: “Uniforms remove one daily distraction, and my opponent has not named a single benefit of choosing clothes that outweighs it.”

Your next drill: restate your opponent's best point in one sentence before you answer it.

What teachers and parents get

  • Practice without a partner. Every student gets a turn at the same moment, at any hour, with an opponent that never gets tired of the same topic.
  • Fair judging. The judge scores the argument, not the position, and never sees which side a student would prefer. The opponent never invents statistics or sources.
  • A teacher view. Teachers see each student's scores and session counts, never their transcripts.
  • Safe by design. Abusive language is filtered, the opponent stays respectful, rap battles are hidden on school accounts, and audio is never stored.
  • Any topic. Use the class motion or write your own. The scorecard works on logic and evidence, not on which side a student takes.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is it appropriate for teenagers?

AdversaryAI is for people aged 13 and over. Students under 13 can use it only through a school-managed account, and the school handles any required parental consent. Abusive language is filtered and school accounts do not see the rap battle mode.

How do schools and homeschool families pay?

Schools pay $6 per seat a month, with 150 rounds per seat shared in a pool. A teacher or parent creates a school from the account page, invites students with a link and pays in one place, so students do not need their own payment details. Everyone can also try 15 free rounds first with no card.

Can students use their voice?

Yes. Students can speak or type. Voice input works in Chrome and Edge; in other browsers students can type their answers.

Which debate formats does it support?

Oxford, Lincoln-Douglas, rapid-fire and freeform, with a choice of side and difficulty. It builds arguments and rebuttals; it is not a substitute for coaching on any league's specific rules.

Can a student pick which side they argue?

Yes. Argue for, against, or let a coin toss decide. In freeform, no side is fixed.

Is the judge biased?

The judge scores the argument, not the position. It applies the same rubric to both sides and does not reward length over substance.

What does it cost?
