How a session works

Three steps, about ten minutes

  1. Tell it the job. Title, level (entry, mid, senior) and company. An hourly role gets hourly questions; a director role gets a director's.
  2. Talk, or type. Pick 3, 6 or 10 questions. The interviewer asks one at a time, follows up on vague answers, and near the end asks whether you have questions for them.
  3. Get graded. The interview ends with a decision, hire or no hire, and a scorecard with your score, the moments that cost you, and a five-minute drill.

Your #1 priority: Structure Your answers wandered before reaching the point.
Missed moment
“I've never failed. I checked 500 racks.”

A big claim with nothing behind it made the interviewer doubt you.

Try instead: “I check every rack, and when one failed I re-washed it and told my lead.”

Your next drill: answer every question in two sentences, then ask one of your own.

Questions you should expect

  • “Tell me about yourself.” The interviewer is listening for a 60-second story with a point, not your résumé read aloud.
  • “Tell me about a time you disagreed with your manager.” Expect a follow-up: what did you actually say, and what happened next?
  • “What's your biggest weakness?” A real one, with what you do about it. Generic answers get a second, sharper question.
  • “Why this company, why this role?” Specifics from the company you gave it, not flattery.
  • “Do you have any questions for me?” It asks, and it judges your questions as part of the decision.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is it voice or text?

Either. Voice works in Chrome, Edge and Safari; type if you prefer or if your browser blocks the microphone (Brave does).

How many free mock interviews do I get?

Fifteen free rounds, where a round is one exchange. A six-question interview uses six, so you get a couple of full interviews before you pay anything.

Will it make up questions that real interviewers would not ask?

The interviewer is told to ask only questions a real hiring manager for your role and level would ask, and to end with a hire or no-hire decision.

What does it cost?

Your first 15 rounds are free with no card. After that: Debater is $12 a month for 300 rounds, Coach is $29 for 750, Champion is $49 for 500 premium rounds plus 60 minutes of photoreal video opponents, and Elite is $100 for 1,000 premium rounds and 2 hours of video. Round packs are $9 for 100, $19 for 250 and $39 for 600, and pack rounds never expire. Teams and departments pay $15 per seat a month, schools $6.
